Adoption for these top three dating apps have continued to grow as their first-time installs collectively reached 106.4 million in 2021. Although this was only marginally higher than the 106.2 million installs in 2020, it represented 17 percent growth from 91 million installs in 2019.
Bumble has seen a continued influx of first-time installs, hitting about 21.6 million in 2021. This was up 19 percent year-over-year from a little more than 18 million in 2020, during which it saw a surge in adoption as its installs grew 24 percent Y/Y from 14.6 million in 2019.
Although Hinge saw its installs grow 50 percent Y/Y to 8.4 million in 2020, it only grew 2 percent Y/Y to 8.6 million in 2021. Tinder’s installs in 2021 reached approximately 76.2 million globally, a slight dip of 4 percent when compared to 2020. However, this was still up 8 percent when compared to 70.8 million in 2019.
